About Me

Elliot Kim

I am a senior at George School and an aspiring filmmaker. I believe a director is more than just the person behind the lens - they can be the driving force behind every creative direction.

My approach aligns with that of auteur directors, who are deeply involved in every aspect of filmmaking. I am inspired by independent studios like A24 that entrust the director, prioritizing ingenuity over commercial expectations.

I also study and actively explore all phases of filmmaking - from storyboarding and set design to shooting, music selection, and post-production - both independently and through programs at NYU Tisch, Columbia University, and the New York Film Academy. I founded Square1Films to create, direct, and produce multiple meaningful short films as well as intern with SMLEE Photography LLC, supporting video production and editing for clients.

As I continue to grow, I look forward to creating films that are distinctly personal and purposeful - works that reflect my vision from start to finish.
